The testing burden is probably the biggest obstacle in larger organizations, especially as the numbrer of integrations and customizations increase. With Microsoft releasing new features with every major srvice pack now, the old rule of waiting for next service pack carries less weight. The more important questions include: Has it been more than a year since my last code update? Have my ISVs released their updates for the current GP build? Are the included features compelling for my nusiness? Will we lose the direct upgrade path if we wait for the next release? Where do I stand in the Microsoft product life cycle calendar? What will it cost and is there room in my budget?
